Hello August. With school starting back soon, life is about to get hectic, but I always love beginning a new month with a clear set of goals. Taking the time to lay out my intentions helps me stay grounded, focused, and prepared — and I’m excited to see where I land by the end of the month. August is going to be much more hectic than July. Our youngest goes back to school, the oldest starts college, and with that a lot of schedule changes. It is a much more hectic pace than the summer months.
Financial Goals: Saving & Simplifying
My financial goals for August are all about simplicity and intentional spending. I plan to save $100 and review my subscriptions to cancel anything I no longer use. Small financial cleanups like this add up quickly, and they help me maintain better control over both my budget and my long-term goals. I am sure I will find subscription services that I paid for annual that I don’t recall so I am going to dig deep and see what I have used and didn’t use and cancel anything that is lingering. I know I paid for Thrive Market and have bought zero items so no need to use it anymore.
Health Goals: Movement, Hydration, & Progress
This month, I’m focusing on losing 5 lbs., staying consistent with exercise, and increasing my water intake. These are small but meaningful steps that support my overall wellness, especially during a busy transition period. I have noticed that when I stay hydrated that I am not nearly as hungry as when I am not well hydrated.
Business Goals: Closing Homes & Publishing
For August, my business goals include closing on two homes as a transaction coordinator and publishing one book. These goals keep me motivated, productive, and aligned with the professional momentum I built last month. When it comes to books, I am not sure if I am going to publish another journal type book or if I might start working on a wordsearch book. Those seem to intrigue me so we will see where the spirit takes me.
Personal Goals: Growing Through Reading
I plan to read two books this month, and I’m currently working through Becoming Supernatural. I’m already enjoying the insights and look forward to choosing my second read soon. I love a good mix of self-development, thriller, horror, and here lately true stories from Holocaust survivors. I think it reminds me that there is so much strength in hope and is a great reminders that hate can never be allowed to win.
Family Goals: Celebrating a New School Year
This August is a big milestone for our family — one child entering 11th grade and the other starting their first year of college. My family goal is to enjoy the start of the new school year and support both kids as they step into these exciting chapters. So today we will likely go school shopping and get some new clothes and enjoy a nice dinner out. At least, that is what I am hoping for. Oh and I can’t forget, I have to buy all the snacks because they will be needed.
A Busy Month with Big Potential
August feels full — full of responsibility, energy, opportunity, and change. I’m stepping into this month with intention and optimism, knowing that these goals will help guide me through the excitement and the chaos. I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds.
