Well, here we are—day four of this massive migraine. I’ve tried the new medicine, but so far, no luck. My eyes hurt, and to make things weirder, I think I’ve got bags under just one eye—the one that doesn’t hurt as badly. Go figure. Still, I’m sticking to the routine: taking my meds, staying hydrated, drinking caffeine, and praying it’ll let up soon.
My husband keeps telling me to get back on Botox for the migraines and figure out a payment plan, but I’m stubborn. We spent over $1,800 on it last year, and while I know plenty of people spend more on their meds, I’m determined to reduce debt, not add to it. Payment plans just feel like signing up to owe someone. I have faith there’s another solution out there.
Last night, I caved and took an anti-nausea pill because the headache had me feeling queasy. It knocked me out, which helped, so at least I got some sleep.
A Busy Day Ahead
Despite the migraine, life doesn’t stop. Unless I end up in the hospital, I’m working. This morning, I’ve already tackled some real estate tasks and am about to log into my other job. I’ve got about 30 minutes before clocking in, so I’m squeezing in time to write this.
Next on the to-do list: figure out dinner, thaw it out, and chip away at schoolwork. Thankfully, my literature review assignment is split over two weeks, so those 25+ pages feel a little more manageable. I already have my outline, so I’m just going to start turning thoughts into words. Honestly, I’m relieved this migraine came during a week where I have a bit of flexibility. Timing is everything.
Let’s Talk Scary Movies
Switching gears entirely—scary movies! Wait, scary movies in January? Why not? I watched The Crucifixion last night, and it was so interesting. It’s supposedly based on real events, which made it even creepier. The story revolves around a priest and seven nuns who were convicted of murder during an exorcism.
The movie follows a journalist investigating whether exorcisms are legitimate or if it was just a case of mental illness. As the journalist dives deeper, they face their own crisis of faith. At the end of the film, we learn that the priest and nuns were released after seven years in prison, and the priest is still active in Romania.
It had its scary moments, but it wasn’t overly terrifying. Still, anything involving the Devil feels inherently scarier than a slasher villain like Freddy Krueger or Jason, because it feels more real. If you’re into scary movies, I recommend checking it out. I believe it’s available on Prime Video and maybe Peacock or Paramount Plus.
Some Smutty TV and Goal Planning
Now for some lighter fare—smut TV! I plan to catch up on Sister Wives and 90 Day Fiancé: Last Resort today, if my schedule allows. It’s my guilty pleasure, and I’m not ashamed to admit it.
Also, I need to sit down and brainstorm my February goals. February starts Saturday, so I’ve got to put pen to paper this week. Along with finishing my school paper, it’s high on my priority list.
What About You?
What are your goals for today or this week? Any fun plans? My husband’s working Saturday, so I’ll likely spend the day cleaning the house and chipping away at school or real estate work.
Let me know what you’re up to in the comments!
