Mid-Week Update!

Okay friends, if you haven’t watched Love on the Spectrum Season 3 on Netflix, go do it! This show is absolutely endearing, and I’ve fallen in love with each of the individuals on it. It’s such a heartwarming and refreshing series—I laughed, cried, and cheered them on every step of the way.

🚨 Spoilers below—so if you haven’t seen it yet, skip to the next section! 🚨

First off—Abby and David are adorable! Her little song to him was so sweet, and now I can’t stop thinking about the line: “He knows I’d rather have gummy bears any day.” Same, girl. SAME. 😆
Madison and Tyler are another precious duo. The way he met her parents and then just immediately started making out? I was cackling. 😂
I wish we got to see more of Pari! Her story was so sweet and unique—she definitely brought something special to the season.
As for Dani and Adan, I think their breakup was probably for the best. Dani knew what she wanted, and their values just didn’t line up. Props to her for handling it with such grace. And it looks like she may already have a new beau! 👀
Tanner? That guy is just pure joy. His smile is so contagious, and you can tell he truly enjoys meeting people and going on dates. Callie and him seem to be amazing friends—maybe there’s potential for more there one day?
And finally—Connor and James both found love! Connor and Georgie are the cutest. She really calms him, and you can tell he’s totally smitten. What a fantastic season—seriously, go watch it if you haven’t already.

Now, I’ve moved on to Dying for Sex on Hulu/FX. It stars Michelle Williams (who is fabulous, as always). The storyline? Michelle’s character gets a cancer diagnosis and realizes she’s had… a lot of bad sex. So, she decides if she’s going out, she’s going out having good sex. Add in the fact that her husband hasn’t touched her in a year, and you’ve got a wild, thought-provoking, and strangely empowering watch. I’m only on episode two, but it’s good so far. Definitely not a show to watch with kids around, though. Fair warning!

🌱 Life Update: Garden Edition
Our garden is mostly finished! We still have one raised bed left to fill, but the rest are looking good and full. Here’s what we’ve got growing:
🍅 Tomatoes, 🧅 onions, 🧄 garlic, 🌶️ jalapeños, 🌶️ red/yellow bell peppers, 🥒 zucchini, 🍠 squash, 🌿 oregano, 🥦 broccoli, 🥕 carrots, 🌱 radish, 🌽 corn, 🥒 cucumbers, 🌿 basil, 🌿 cilantro, 🫘 French yellow beans, 🥬 spinach, and even asparagus. I think that’s all I planted—but honestly, I might have forgotten something. 😂 We’ll see what actually comes up!

If you’re a gardener or have any experience growing veggies, I would love your tips and tricks. Help a girl out!

🎓 School Prep + Research Woes
Classes start back on May 12, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to stay organized with my research. I’ve already started gathering sources, but I need a system to keep everything easily accessible when it’s time to actually write. I’m also a little nervous about submitting proposals to institutions and gaining approval for interviews. It feels a bit intimidating, but I’m trusting I’ll figure it out as I go. If you have any academic organization hacks, I’m all ears!

🎄 Fun & Festivities
We went to the Flowertown Festival recently, and I managed to snag a few Christmas gifts already! 🎁 Parents and in-laws—check! Even got a gift for my oldest son’s other grandfather. (If you’re new here—yes, we’re a blended family, so that sentence might have sounded confusing, but trust me, it all makes sense in our world.)

And speaking of my oldest—he designed the poster for his school’s production of Guys and Dolls! It’s been put up all over town, and the play kicks off tonight. I’ll be volunteering at the ticket booth tonight and tomorrow, and then I’ll get to actually sit and enjoy the show on Saturday. I’m so proud of him. 🥹

We also have a college tour coming up on the 26th… can’t believe I’m saying this, but we’ll have a graduate next year. It’s surreal. Time really does fly.

Anyway, that’s my mid-week check-in. I hope you all are having a fabulous week. If you’re a gardener (or a research-organization pro), drop me your wisdom—I need all the help I can get. 🌿💻

Until next time,
💛 Me
