If you’re anything like me — juggling work, home, business, and personal goals — staying organized can feel like a full-time job. But I’ve found a rhythm that works, and it all starts with one unexpected habit: using multiple planners.
Yep. Multiple.
You might be thinking, “Is that really necessary?” For me, absolutely. Each planner has a purpose, and together, they help me keep all the moving parts of my life in harmony.
1. Home & Life Planner: Passionate Penny Pincher
This planner is a life-saver for my household. It includes appointments, goal tracking, and weekly timelines. Even though I also add appointments to my phone, the visual aspect of writing things down on paper makes everything feel more concrete and actionable.
2. Work Planner: The Master Organizer
This one is the MVP of my work and business life. I write down every appointment — personal, professional, or side hustle — in this space. I also use it for daily to-do lists so I can prioritize what must get done and what can wait. I’m not loyal to one brand here — it just needs to be functional.
3. Budget Planner: Papers by Jessica Ann
Budgeting is where I get intentional. This planner isn’t just about expenses — it’s where I track monthly, weekly, and daily goals, write down my gratitude, and record appointments if they’re finance-related. It has genuinely transformed how I look at money and my financial goals.
Another favorite of mine from Papers by Jessica Ann is the Becoming Debt Free planner. It has provided me with a space to write down every debt, clearly understand the snowball method, and literally color in my progress as I pay down each balance. Once I’ve knocked out a card or loan, I slap on a fun “Paid in Full” sticker and move on to the next. This visual progress tracker has become one of the most satisfying and motivating parts of my debt-free journey.
4. Old-School Checkbook
Call me nostalgic, but keeping a physical checkbook helps me track every expense and reconcile it with my account. It keeps me mindful of what’s leaving my bank account — no surprises at the end of the month!
5. Motivational Boost: The Law of Attraction Changed My Life Podcast
Every Friday, I tune into Franchesca Amber’s podcast, The Law of Attraction Changed My Life. It never fails to uplift and re-center me. If you’re looking for practical mindset shifts, this one is a must-listen.
6. Business Tools That Make Life Easier
Expensify: Perfect for uploading receipts and keeping tabs on business expenses, especially come tax time.
Found: If you’re a freelancer or small business owner, the Found account makes tax allocation and business banking easier than ever. It automatically sets aside taxes and keeps your finances clear and simple.
Bonus Productivity Tools to Explore:
If you’re wanting even more ways to boost productivity, here are a few tools on my radar (or already in light use):
- Trello or Notion: For digital project management and brainstorming.
- Google Calendar: For syncing appointments across devices.
- Pomodoro Timer Apps (like Focus Keeper): Great for time blocking and staying focused.
- Habit Tracker (like Streaks or Habitica): To build consistency around daily habits.
- Canva Pro: For business branding, social content, and quick graphic creation.
Final Thoughts
Being productive doesn’t mean being busy — it means being intentional with your time, money, and energy. Whether it’s a beautifully designed planner, a motivational podcast, or an old-school checkbook, find the tools that support your rhythm.
