October has been a month of movement — emotionally, spiritually, and in business.
It’s also the start of our busy season, so there’s been no shortage of things to juggle.
At the start of the month, I set several goals for myself:
- Lose 5 lbs.
- Increase my movement.
- Cut unnecessary costs.
- Add to my savings.
- Prepare for the holidays.
- Practice gratitude daily.
- Have good client outreach.
- Focus on spooky marketing.
- Participate in the Italian Feast.
- Purge old business items and donate to the food pantry.
Now that October is wrapping up, here’s how it really went.
⚖️ The Real Results
Let’s start with the honest stuff first — where we ended the month.
I maintained my weight most of the month, but according to the scale, I ended up gaining about 4 lbs. in the final week. My stomach has been a little off lately, so I’d like to blame that… but honestly, it’s just motivation to get back on track.
I didn’t increase my movement the way I hoped to either, but that’s something I’m planning to focus on again in November. Sometimes progress isn’t linear — and that’s okay.
💰 Money Moves and Smart Savings
I did make progress in the financial department by cutting some unused subscriptions and enrolling in automatic payments for my internet and cell phone bills — a small but satisfying win.
I didn’t add to savings this month like I intended, but cutting costs is still a step in the right direction. Every little bit counts, especially as we roll into the holiday season.
🙏 Gratitude, Clients, and Growth
One thing I’m proud of?
I practiced gratitude daily — and I plan to continue that well into the next year. It’s amazing how grounding that small act can be when life feels hectic.
On the business side, client outreach was solid this month. I had more clients come through and have been busy working on deals, which is always exciting this time of year.
I also had fun leaning into spooky season — from themed marketing ideas to Halloween-inspired posts, it’s been a playful reminder that business doesn’t always have to feel so serious.
🎁 Holiday Prep (Kind Of)
So… are we prepared for the holidays?
In some ways, yes. In most ways, not quite.
Normally, I like to buy gifts throughout the year to stay ahead, but this year I’ve been more distracted than usual. I definitely need to catch up on shopping soon!
That said, I did declutter quite a bit — removing old business materials and donating to the food pantry. There’s something about clearing space that just feels right before the holidays.
📚 Books That Shaped My Month
Reading continues to be one of my favorite ways to reset and refocus.
This month, I finished six books that all offered a different kind of insight:
- Rich as F*ck by Amanda Frances
- Death Writes Itself by Connie Froman Davis
- The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
- The No-Spend Challenge by Jen Smith
- Awaken: 90 Days with the God Who Speaks by Priscilla Shirer
- The Three Lives of Cate Kay by Kate Fagan
Each one gave me something to think about — from abundance and belief to discipline, faith, and financial mindfulness. (Stay tuned for my book reviews coming soon!)
🌕 Looking Ahead to November
November is going to be all about refocusing — both personally and professionally.
I want to bring movement back into my routine, add more intention into my spending, and start preparing mentally (and financially!) for the holidays.
More gratitude, more flow, and a little less pressure — that’s the vibe I’m taking with me into the next month.
🎃 Final Thoughts
October wasn’t perfect, but it was real.
And honestly, that’s what these monthly reflections are all about — celebrating the wins, learning from the losses, and recognizing that growth doesn’t always show up in a straight line.
So here’s to small steps, lessons learned, and the start of a beautiful season ahead.
Wishing you all a safe and fun Halloween — may your night be filled with candy, laughter, and just the right amount of spooky. 👻🎃
