My Morning Routine: The Power of Daily Rituals

If you’ve read my day in the life post, you know how full my days can be. But today, let’s dive deeper into how I start each morning—and why these simple rituals matter so much.


Skin Care First, Always

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: skin care matters. It’s the first thing I do once I’m up and at it.

Here’s my quick routine (takes under 3 minutes!):

  • Cleanse with a facial cleanser or micellar water (especially if I’m in a hurry)
  • Apply a facial mist moisturizer
  • Add a hydrating serum that really seeps into the skin
  • Seal it with a cream moisturizer with SPF

It’s fast, refreshing, and makes me feel awake and cared for. Even if nothing else goes right in my day, my skin is glowing and protected.


Caffeine, Water, and Meds

From there, I prep my drinks:

  • Coffee (non-negotiable)
  • Water
  • And usually a Mountain Dew Zero (yes, it’s my guilty pleasure)

I also take my morning medications and vitamins, setting the foundation for a healthy day.


🗓️ Plan, Journal, Manifest

With my drinks in hand, I sit at my desk and check my daily schedule—what meetings are on deck, what tasks need attention.

Then I journal, and this part is key to my mindset:

  • I write down three goals I have for the month
  • Then I write down one thing I’m grateful for

This simple repetition keeps my goals top-of-mind and cultivates a gratitude-driven attitude. It grounds me and helps me manifest what I’m working toward.


💰 Yes, I Budget Daily

Next up: daily budgeting.

I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but here’s what I do:

  • Track anything I spent the day before
  • Reconcile my checkbook and accounts
  • Confirm automated payments have gone through

This tiny habit gives me financial peace of mind and keeps surprises at bay. Bonus points if I remembered to take something out of the freezer for dinner—because that’s real life!


🥤 Breakfast? Maybe. Exercise? Soon.

I’m not a big breakfast person. But if I get hungry, I might drink a protein shake.

One thing I want to add? Exercise.
But truthfully, I’m out of shape and nervous to begin. So if you’ve got gentle routines or encouraging tips—I’m all ears.
