May Goals Review & June Intentions: Wins, Lessons & Real-Life Growth

Monthly Reset: Reflecting on May and Planning for a Purposeful June

As we step into a new month, it’s time for one of my favorite rituals: reflecting on the goals I set in May and preparing fresh intentions for June. There’s something grounding about reviewing progress—acknowledging the wins, learning from the challenges, and shifting focus with intention.

Let’s dive in.

📌 May Goals Review

🧠 Health Goal: Lose 5 lbs & Reduce Dizzy Spells
➡️ Result: I didn’t hit the full 5-pound goal, but I did lose 3 lbs—and that’s still progress worth celebrating! Unfortunately, my dizzy spells have increased, but I suspect this is linked to the warmer temperatures. Hydration and awareness will be key in June.

💸 Financial Goal: Pay Off One Small Debt
Success! I paid off a lingering medical bill to Labcorp—one less thing on the to-do list and a weight lifted.

🎓 School Goal: Make Progress Toward Degree
✅ I officially began my Capstone I class and so far, so good. I’m staying on track, focused, and productive.

🏡 Business Goal: Close Two Homes as a Transaction Coordinator
Achieved! I closed two homes in May—and technically three, but I won’t count that last one until the payment clears. Business is rolling!

🎉 Fun Activity Goal: Celebrate Mother’s Day & My Son’s Birthday
✅ Absolutely nailed this one! I had a wonderful Mother’s Day, my eldest son had a fantastic birthday, and to top it off, my parents visited at the end of May. It was a full and joy-filled month.

Other Financial Intentions:

  • Find a side hustle: I realized I don’t have the bandwidth for more right now, and that self-awareness is a win in itself.
  • Reduce utility costs: The gas bill is lower—thank you, summer heat!

💬 May Inspiration:

“May you be proud of the work you do, the person you are, and the difference you make.”

Fingers crossed for visible results in both areas!

  • Cut grocery costs (hello, coupons!)
  • Stick to a daily budget and avoid overspending

  • Continue progressing in my Capstone class (ends in August)
  • Incorporate professor feedback
  • Research, research, research!

🏡 Business Goal:

  • Close 2 homes as a transaction coordinator

🎉 Fun Activity Goal:

  • Dinner with my brother-in-law and nephew
  • Celebrate Father’s Day

💬 June Inspiration:

“Keep your face to the sun and you will never see the shadows.” —Helen Keller

💭 Final Thoughts

Looking back, May was a solid month—imperfect, but full of effort, self-awareness, and little wins. That’s what growth looks like. June is already shaping up to be busy, but I’m trying to stay focused on what I can control and find joy along the way.

Now it’s your turn—
How did May go for you?
Did you meet your goals, or are you feeling stuck?
What’s one thing you’ll do differently this month to support your growth—mentally, physically, or spiritually?

Let’s make June count. One goal, one day at a time. 🌿
