June 2026 Recap: Celebrating Progress Over Perfection

Well, another month has come and gone, which means it’s time for one of my favorite blog posts—the monthly recap!

At the beginning of June, I sat down and wrote out several goals in the areas of finances, health, business, personal growth, family, and even a fun bucket list item. I always enjoy looking back at these goals because they remind me that progress is made one month at a time.

Let’s see how June turned out.

My June Goals

  • Financial Goal: Pay off two credit cards and pay off our 2025 taxes.
  • Health Goal: Lose 5 pounds, go to the YMCA regularly, and sign up for a YMCA class.
  • Business Goal: Close on two homes as a Transaction Coordinator.
  • Personal Goal: Read two books.
  • Family Goal: Enjoy time with the kids while school is out.
  • Monthly Bucket List: Learn how to make a lemon martini.

Now, here’s where we landed.

Financial Wins

This month was a huge success financially.

The biggest accomplishment was officially paying off our 2025 taxes. This has been a financial goal I’ve been working toward for months, and it feels incredibly rewarding to finally put it behind us.

On top of that, I also:

  • Paid off my Venmo credit card
  • Paid off my TJ Maxx credit card
  • Paid my quarterly 2026 business taxes
  • Paid my husband’s vehicle property taxes so we could renew his tags for July
  • Paid my vehicle property taxes so we could renew my tags for July

Seeing those balances disappear is incredibly motivating. Every debt that’s paid off creates more breathing room and allows us to focus on future financial goals instead of past obligations.

Lesson Learned: Financial freedom isn’t built through one giant decision. It’s built one payment, one budget, and one intentional choice at a time.

Health Wins

Although I didn’t quite reach my five-pound weight-loss goal, I only lost two, I made something even more important happen—I created consistency.

I signed up for several YMCA classes, including:

  • Pilates
  • Water Aerobics
  • Chair Yoga

Of those, water aerobics has easily become my favorite, and I’ve been attending class three times a week.

Finding an exercise I genuinely enjoy has been a game changer. Instead of forcing myself to work out, I actually look forward to going, and I know that consistency will continue paying off over time.

Sometimes building the habit is a bigger victory than reaching the number on the scale.

Business Update

June ended up being a slower month than May, which isn’t unusual in real estate.

I did hit my goal of closing two homes as a Transaction Coordinator, but was secretly hoping for more; I also recognize that this business naturally has seasons. Some months are incredibly busy, while others provide an opportunity to prepare for what’s ahead.

One thing I’ve learned about working in real estate is that momentum can change quickly, so I’m staying optimistic and continuing to provide the best service possible to every client and agent I work with.

Personal Goal: Reading

Once again, I completely surpassed my reading goal.

I planned to read two books.

Instead, I finished six!

This month’s reads included:

  • The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
  • Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
  • You Are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero
  • Make Your Bed by Admiral William H. McRaven
  • Romanticise Your Life: 28 Day Challenge by Chantal Spies
  • The Dressmakers of Auschwitz by Lucy Adlington

Reading continues to be one of my favorite ways to learn, relax, and challenge my thinking. I love that my bookshelf now includes everything from personal development and finance to historical nonfiction and fiction.

Book reviews for these titles are already published or coming soon!

Family Memories

One of my goals this month was simply to enjoy summer while the kids were out of school.

I’m happy to say we did exactly that.

We celebrated Father’s Day, spent quality time together as a family, and enjoyed a visit from my brother-in-law and youngest niece.

Some of my favorite memories this month included beach days, relaxing together, and hosting a tea party. These simple moments often become the ones we remember the longest.

Summer has a way of reminding us that not every meaningful day has to be busy or expensive.

Bucket List Update

Well…

I did not learn how to make a lemon martini.

And honestly?

That’s okay.

Not every goal has to be completed every month.

That’s one of the reasons I enjoy having monthly bucket list items—they’re meant to encourage fun and trying something new, not create pressure.

Who knows? Maybe July will finally be the month I perfect the lemon martini.

Final Thoughts

Looking back, June was another month of meaningful progress.

We became debt-free on our 2025 taxes, paid off two more credit cards, stayed consistent with healthier habits, read six incredible books, and made wonderful family memories.

Not every goal was completed exactly as planned, but that’s never really the point.

The goal is to keep moving forward.

Every month is another opportunity to learn, grow, celebrate wins, and adjust where needed. Progress isn’t about perfection—it’s about continuing to show up.

Now it’s time to welcome July and see what new adventures await.
