As the air turns crisp and the leaves start to change, I always get excited about creating a little fall bucket list. Ours looks a bit different these days since we don’t have small kids anymore, but that doesn’t mean the season can’t be just as fun. In fact, these days it’s usually my husband and I coming up with ideas (sometimes without him even knowing it yet 😉), though our kids still jump in for a few traditions.
When they were younger, fall meant pumpkin patches, face painting, trick-or-treating, and endless fall festivals. Now, our list has shifted a little, but it’s still all about making memories and embracing the season.
🎃 Our Family Fall Bucket List
Here are a few things we’ll definitely be doing this season:
- Farmer’s Market Visits – We love going all year long, but fall is the best time with the cooler weather and all the seasonal produce.
- Apple Picking – Not a huge haul, but enough to enjoy the experience and maybe bake a pie or two.
- Pumpkin Picking – This one will never go away. I’m particular about my pumpkins—give me one with a good, sturdy stem!
- Scary Movie Night – A favorite in our house. Even our youngest joins in on this one.
- DIY Halloween Decorations – We’ve already started! It’s fun to get creative and make the house festive together.
- Halloween Night – Passing out candy, seeing the kids’ costumes, and walking the neighborhood—it’s a tradition that makes the season so special.
🍁 More Fall Bucket List Ideas
If you’re looking to expand your own list, here are some other cozy and festive ideas:
- Go on a fall foliage drive and take in the colors
- Host a chili cook-off or soup night with friends
- Bake pumpkin bread or apple crisp
- Visit a haunted house or ghost tour
- Have a backyard bonfire with s’mores
- Go hiking on a crisp fall morning
- Take family photos with the autumn leaves
- Do a “thankful jar” to build up to Thanksgiving
The beauty of a fall bucket list is that it doesn’t have to be complicated—it’s about savoring the season and creating moments you’ll remember.
