A New Week, A Fresh Start

Happy Sunday! A new week is here, and I am grateful for it. Last week was a rough one—definitely a “doozy.” It all started with dizzy spells last Saturday, followed by the worst earache on Sunday. By Monday, my entire body ached, but thankfully, antibiotics helped, and I made sure to rest on Monday and Tuesday. While I felt better as the week progressed, I’ve now developed a cough—so that’s fun. My husband wasn’t feeling great this weekend either, and Liam is still coughing on and off. I think Miles is the only healthy one in the house right now!

On a brighter note, I officially passed my course, and my first three chapters of my capstone/dissertation have been accepted! Now, I’m just waiting for my school to enroll me in the research portion. In the meantime, I’ve started looking into my topic and gathering public-facing information. It’s exciting to see things moving forward!

My transaction coordinator business has also been going really well. I’ve been exceeding my expectations for potential closings each month, which is amazing. The downside? Over half of the money earned goes straight to taxes. Still, I’m working on saving up for something special for the kids—maybe a trip to Universal Studios Orlando this fall. We’ll see!

I finally finished Hurt, Healing, Healed by Emma Mumford. It’s around 250 pages, but it took me forever to get through. The author provides a lot of examples to illustrate her points, which was helpful at times, but since I’ve read so many books in this genre, some parts felt repetitive. My biggest takeaway? Live in the moment, know your goals, take action toward them, and trust in God’s timing. Another concept that stood out to me was the idea that forgiveness is more about acceptance—acknowledging that things happened, even the painful ones, and recognizing that they shaped where you are today. That perspective on healing was really interesting to me. Unresolved hurt can create mental and emotional blocks, and part of truly moving forward is accepting the past rather than just trying to “forgive and forget.”

Now that I’m done with that, I’m ready for a fun, non-self-help book! Next up: Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix. And I have a signed copy—so exciting!

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!
