I love fall and all the cozy traditions that come with it—especially fall movies. Some I enjoy watching on my own or with my spouse, while others are family-friendly favorites I watch with my kids. Here are a few of my go-to fall movies that never fail to set the seasonal mood.
🍂 Hocus Pocus
I’ve always been a huge Hocus Pocus fan. The Sanderson sisters are iconic, and I can practically quote the movie line for line. Hocus Pocus 2 was a fun addition too! This movie brings back childhood nostalgia, and I love that my kids enjoy it with me.
🍂 Harry Potter Series
The Harry Potter movies are perfect for fall. I’ve watched them countless times—sometimes I put them on in the background while cleaning or reading, and other times I get fully immersed in the magic. My kids love them too, which makes for an easy family movie night.
🍂 Casper
This fun, lighthearted ghost story has been a favorite since my childhood. My kids love it just as much as I did, and it’s perfect for fall without being too spooky. A fun memory: my best friend and I once named our goldfish Stretch, Stinky, and Fatso after the ghost trio!
🍂 Practical Magic
This one is a favorite to watch with my husband. Between the spells, romance, and quirky moments (especially the frog scenes), it’s a cozy fall pick. My teens haven’t watched it yet, but I’d love for them to.
🍂 Halloweentown Series
Disney’s Halloweentown movies are family classics. I grew up loving them, and while my kids have seen them many times, I still like watching them every fall. The whole franchise is perfect for a cozy family movie marathon.
🍂 The Craft
If you love a little spooky, witchy energy, The Craft is a must. With its mix of magic, teenage drama, and a slightly darker edge, it’s one of my favorite fall movies. My kids have only seen clips, but one day I’ll have them sit down and watch the whole thing.
🎬 Horror Movies Coming Soon…
I’m a big fan of horror films too, but I’ll save that list for October!
