Luxury: Redefining What It Really Means

Luxury. Just the word sparks so many images—designer handbags, high-end fashion, expensive cars, sprawling mansions, and vacations on private islands. It sounds glamorous, right? But have you ever stopped to think about what luxury really means? By definition, luxury is “a condition of abundance or great ease and comfort.” That’s pretty broad. Could it be that true luxury isn’t always about material possessions?

I think so. In fact, I know so. What I consider luxury might look completely different from what you consider luxury—and that’s the beauty of it. For me, luxury is the ability to work from home, to put food on the table, to pay bills on time, and to have my basic needs met without constant stress. Sure, unexpected expenses pop up (life happens), but the peace of knowing that our day-to-day needs are covered? That’s luxury for many people.

Now, don’t get me wrong—I still catch myself scrolling through Instagram thinking, Wow, that lifestyle is luxurious! The people traveling to exotic destinations, dining in 5-star restaurants every night, driving the latest luxury vehicles, and collecting those designer pieces… yes, that’s absolutely luxury too. But here’s the thing—it’s not the only version of luxury.

For me, true luxury also looks like this: expanding my business nationwide and trusting a team to nurture the foundation I built. Launching my podcast to inspire women and spread positivity. Having the time—not just the money—to give to causes that matter deeply to me. Spending afternoons with my family without worrying about deadlines or stress. Watching my kids laugh, knowing they’re healthy and happy. Feeling calm, loved, and at peace.

That’s luxury.

Luxury doesn’t have to mean owning the dream car right now—or ever. Would it be nice to have one? Sure, maybe. But honestly, who knows? I’ve never even driven that car—it might not even feel like me.

The truth is, luxury is personal. It’s not defined by society, trends, or the latest influencer’s highlight reel. It’s about what makes you feel abundant, comfortable, and deeply fulfilled. For some, that’s a private jet. For others, it’s sipping coffee on the porch with no rush to be anywhere.
