Mid-Week Mindset Tools You Can Use Anytime to Feel Grounded

Let’s talk about mindset for a second—specifically mid-week mindset. I know, Wednesdays tend to feel heavy. You’re deep in the week, juggling it all, and maybe a little frazzled. But here’s the truth: you don’t have to wait until mid-week to take a breath and ground yourself. These tools I’m sharing today are available to you anytime—morning, night, weekday, weekend. Whenever you need them.

1. Have Faith (In Whatever You Believe In)

Now listen, I’m not here to tell you what to believe. For me, it’s God. For you, it might be the Universe, Allah, Buddha, Spirit—whatever aligns with your soul. This isn’t about religion; it’s about surrendering worry and knowing that a higher power is guiding the way.

When anxiety creeps in—about the future, about money, about our kids growing up or the chaos of back-to-school—I remind myself: God’s got this. I find myself worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet (anyone else?), and I have to pause and say, “Amber, God will provide a way when the time comes.”

That simple act of trust calms me. It doesn’t erase the challenges, but it helps me shift from panic to peace.

2. Get Outside—Even Just for a Minute

This one’s easy and powerful. Step outside. Rain or shine. Morning or evening. Just go.

Get away from the noise—the screens, the house, the emails, the to-dos—and be still. Nature has this way of resetting your nervous system. Even if it’s just your porch, your backyard, or standing in your driveway with your eyes closed for a few breaths.

I used to love walking through our garden when it was blooming and full of life, but with this hot summer, everything’s kind of wilted. So now, I’ll just step onto the front porch or the back patio and stand for a few minutes. I listen to the birds, watch the bees, and take in the peaceful chaos of our puppies running around. It’s simple, but it’s sacred.

These two tools—faith and fresh air—have one thing in common: they bring you back to the present.

When we’re anxious, it’s often because we’re thinking too far ahead or dwelling on the past. These little practices remind us to come back to now. And in the now, things are usually okay. You’re breathing. You’re safe. You’re held. You’re doing the best you can.

So whether it’s Wednesday or not, I hope you take a moment today to pause, breathe, and ground yourself.
