Unapologetically Amber: Living Life, Unfiltered

Book Review: Everything Is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo Changed My Mindset

It’s book review time, and today I’m diving into Everything Is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo. Let me just say—this book flipped my mindset in the best way possible.

Right from the first chapter, my internal dialogue shifted from “I don’t know how” to “I can figure it out.” And that shift has made a big impact on my everyday life. From little tasks to big decisions, I now approach challenges from a space of possibility instead of limitation.

The Core Message: Everything Really Is Figureoutable

Marie doesn’t just preach positivity—she backs it up with real-life examples from both her life and her readers. Every page reminds you that yes, life is full of challenges—but nearly every problem has a solution if you approach it with belief, persistence, and action.

At the heart of this message is faith—faith in yourself and faith that the answers will come. This book encourages you to remove excuses and start from a place of empowerment.

Facing Fear Head-On

One of my favorite chapters tackled fear. Marie encourages us to go through fear, not around it. That might sound terrifying, but it really does help you grow.

Fear of a new job? It might lead to your next big skill.
Fear of public speaking? Same—I’m working on that one myself.
Fear of rollercoasters? Okay, you can skip that (I did!).

The point is: Fear is a teacher. Growth often hides behind what scares us the most.

Define the Dream (Even If It’s Messy)

Marie also challenges us to get clear on our dreams. What is it you actually want? I found myself relating to her here—I want to do so many things! Consulting, writing, creating… the list goes on. And guess what? I’m capable of doing all of them. I don’t need to choose one path—I’m figuring it out as I go, and that’s perfectly okay.

Start Before You’re Ready

This hit me hard: Start before you’re ready.

So many of us wait for the perfect time, the perfect plan, or the perfect skillset. But Marie pushes us to begin now, imperfectly. Even if I don’t have it all figured out yet—especially as I explore consulting—I know that taking that first step matters more than waiting for the stars to align.

Progress Over Perfection

This chapter truly spoke to my soul. I’m a recovering perfectionist, and the reminder that progress matters more than perfection was exactly what I needed. We’ll never have it all perfectly together—and that’s okay. What matters is movement, not mastery.

Refuse to Be Refused

Lastly, Marie’s lesson on not taking no for an answer was powerful. She doesn’t mean be pushy—but rather be persistent. If it’s your dream, don’t let one rejection stop you. If a door closes, knock again—or find a window.

Final Thoughts: Your Gift Matters

Marie ends the book with something I’ll never forget: The world needs your special gift. That message has stayed with me.

I may not have my entire purpose figured out yet—but maybe writing this blog, showing up with kindness, or helping just one person is part of that purpose. Maybe that’s enough for now. Maybe it’s already making a difference.

Would I Recommend It? Absolutely.

If you’re someone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or full of ideas but unsure where to begin—read this book. It’s honest, uplifting, and actionable. I walked away feeling empowered, hopeful, and yes—more certain that everything truly is figureoutable.
