🌿 Let’s Get Personal: Lessons, Grace & Growth
This month has been one of those seasons where life feels a little heavier, but also filled with unexpected blessings. There have been some tough lessons, tools that are saving my sanity, and—above all—lots of grace.
✨ The Health Rollercoaster
I’ll be honest—this month my body decided to remind me that I am not invincible. With Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, pain is already part of my daily life. My cardiologist also suspects POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), though I’ve decided against doing the tilt test.
The dizziness has been intense lately—sometimes 10–15 spells a day, almost to the point of passing out. My blood pressure runs low (around 86/56), and my labs showed very low ferritin and protein. So, I’ve started iron supplements and am intentionally increasing my protein intake. It’s not easy, but it’s necessary.
As if that wasn’t enough—hello bifocals. My eyes apparently decided to age overnight. I didn’t even start wearing glasses until my 30s, and now my last year of this decade has blessed me with bifocals. Oh, and dental work. (Cavities. Need I say more? Ugh.)
✨ The Wins & Blessings
But here’s the flip side: despite the health hurdles, life has been moving forward in incredible ways.
I recently set new business goals in my planner (September 2025–September 2026), and within two days, opportunities started unfolding at lightning speed. It felt like the Universe was saying, “Finally, she’s clear and ready.” I’m humbled and grateful for these new partnerships, and while it can feel overwhelming, I’m committed to protecting my peace through firm boundaries.
On a lighter note, we’ve also been able to enjoy some fun outings. We saw Beauty and the Beast and even went to the Charleston Symphony. I’m still pinching myself that we got to experience both!
✨ Tools & Practices Helping Me Stay Grounded
When life feels chaotic—between health, business, and home—these tools have been my anchors:
- Planners – I don’t just use them for scheduling; I use them to track goals, gratitude, habits, and even finances. It keeps my mind clear and my days structured.
- Self-growth books – Daily personal development reading keeps me motivated and focused. A few pages each day help me realign my mindset.
- Fiction/fun reads – Sometimes the best reset for my brain is escaping into a story. Giving my mind “time off” allows me to return to my goals refreshed.
- Mindful routines – Things like journaling, practicing gratitude in the morning, and breathing breaks during the day help me stay present.
- Manifestation practices – Writing my goals as if they’ve already happened, visualizing the outcomes, and celebrating small wins has been a powerful reset tool.
- Decluttering – Both physical and mental clutter add to stress. Taking time to purge a drawer or even just clear my desk gives me a sense of calm.
These simple yet intentional practices keep me from spiraling when life feels a bit too full.
✨ Grace in the Mess
The biggest lesson? Grace. Grace for myself on hard health days. Grace when I don’t check every box in my planner. Grace when I need rest more than productivity.
Because even in the challenges, there are blessings—and I’m learning to hold both.
